Company Management

Wescon's senior management has extensive experience in operations, manufacturing and system development within the power automation industry. The staff is highly educated and has a vast amount of experience and expertise in engineering, R&D, sales, marketing and technical support to power automation users.

Dr. Fred Ma, our company CEO, previously worked for the SCADA/EMS company ABB-SC in USA for 17 years before founding Wescon. Jason Huang, another Wescon founder, is CTO of Wescon Group. Jason previously worked for ABB-SC in USA for over 5 years in SCADA system development. He has extensive experiences in SCADA/EMS engineering, hardware and software development. Mike Gissing and Terry Graham, formerly held senior management positions with GE substation automation operations. Mike Gissing was VP European Operations and subsequently VP Worldwide Business Development. Terry Graham was VP Marketing as well as a founder of the original company, Westronic Inc.

Anthony Chan, our VP of Wescon IT Ltd. in Hong Kong, worked for ABB Hong Kong in the field of SCADA/EMS and RTUs for 12 years. He has been the onsite Project Manager for executing metering contracts with CLPP and HEC since 2001, including site installation work in partnership with local contractors in Hong Kong.

Our R&D division is staffed with over 25 engineers. About one quarter of them have Ph.D. or master degrees (from distinguished Chinese and US & European universities) in power systems, controls, computer science, electronic engineering and mechanical engineering. Many of them have extensive work experience in automation and control of power substations over the last ten years. The R&D division has undertaken technical developing ranging from embedded products (power monitoring units, phasor measurement units, RTUs, bay controllers, etc.), SCADA systems, and AMR (Automatic Metering Reading) Systems.
